Letterman's Best Non-Guest

Letterman can put you on his show even if you don't show up.

He sounds like a whiny baby to me. A jilted talk show host.

This leads to another issue. We have 4 people running for P/VP - 3 are senators and 1 is a governor. All 3 are drawing paychecks for those jobs, but none of them are doing those jobs.

Could you leave your job for 6 months to 2 years and say, "I am going to go try to get a better job. Keep paying me for this one, and maybe I'll be back after November". I couldn't do that. Why should candidates be able to?

I say any candidate for office should have to resign from their current office in order to run.

Of course it is the same thing when someone runs for their current office. It is amazing how many days people spend not doing their "jobs" when they campaign. I think they may need to amend the Constitution and give the Representatives 4 year terms because to have them run every 2 years pretty much means they only essentially work for 18 months.
