September 27, 2006The Race to MarsIn the Race to Explore Mars, it is pretty clear. Robots win. The vision of exploring the universe on human feet suffers from a lack imagination, does it not? Posted by David at September 27, 2006 09:39 PMComments
Depends what you want. Lunokhods -- the Soviet lunar rovers -- provided lots of scientific material, but the Appollo program -- the first man on moon -- set certain psychological advantage. Look at the sci-fi novels -- the real dream is living on Mars, not merely looking at it. Images risk becoming absolutely inferior after getting first personal experiences from being there.
